The Way of the Soul

Or "In Memoriam" by Alfred Lord Tennyson
The most frequently quoted lines in the poem are perhaps
I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.
This stanza is to be found in Canto 27. The last two lines are usually taken, out of context, as offering advice on the dissolution of a romantic relationship. However the lines actually refer to the death of a beloved friend. (jupp quoted from wikipedia, nice friend when you're tired, lonely and seeing double"

Currently I'm fascinated by a lot of random stuff. Everything from poems and literature, to illness suck as Todd's syndrome. A fun fact about Todd's syndrome is actually that it's also called Alice in Wonderland syndrome, and it's said that Lewis Carroll suffered from it. Hence the writing of the book. I find a lot about this disease really fascinating, but to avoid starting to speak gibberish I'll leave it up to you to follow the link and read some more about it. I can't hold myself from telling a little thing though, this is exactly the way I feel every time I get new glasses. 2 inches tall, though never hitting the ground when walking, like I'm flying. GREAT!

A bucket for the mademoiselle!

Panda is a girl who like so many other girls loves tea. She'll choose tea over coffee any day. Being such a tea cute sponge she has managed to effect the beloved Trampe to peek into the wonderful world of tea. The only drawback about this is the unfortunate effect it has on her favourite cups. Or to be accurate; the largest cup she ever owned. That being up to today. As Trampe has put his hand on Panda's wanna-bucket, and now gotten is as a "welcome to the world of tea"-present, we got out today and bought a REAL bucket for Panda.

Not a good picture as Panda had to compromise it to get it taken in the bad electrical light. And her MAC is quite new so she haven't got Photoshop or knows how to turn standing pictures to post them.

In China they have a wonderful saying about tea;
To kiss someone is like trying to drink tea from a tea-strainer, one never get satisfied.

And to round it all of, in honour of this great happening we're sharing Trampe's alarm and ringtone with you. One of the great Sting's best songs according to Panda.

Men hva skjer nå for tiden;

Til slutt vil jeg bare si dette til deg Trampe;

A very busy fall

Coulda Woulda Shoulda

I should blog about my trip to China, the trip I just returened from to Russia and what we're really doing up here. The only problem it that I don't have any energy to do that nor time, so all I have to say this writing is; Enjoy you inner child and always take care of it. Don't care about what others think. Live your life to the fully! Do the things you enjoy and makes you happy.

Sei ikkje det.
Vi tar alltid heisen, opp og ned.

Innestengd i den vesle boksen
blir vi med eitt
så inderleg to-eine
at vi alltid må kysse kvarandre
så snart heisen set seg i gang.

Korleis det er inni deg
den blunken det varer
veit eg ikkje.

Men inni meg boblar kvar gong

My weather for the next few days

After a great week at home in Oslo I'm of to China. This is approximately how the weather is going to look during the days I'm there. I think I've backed a bit too warm clothes. Maybe I should find a shorts and my razor so I can use that instead.

Else has the week been great. He got his girl home with better self confidence and even stronger options. I'm completely in love with Trampe and things couldn't be better. Or maybe they could I could be at home, but at the same time we learn to remember and treasure the great things about each other. During the days I was here I've visited Trampe at work both for lunch and just to meet him to do something after work, and I saw something fantastic! He has a picture of ME! YES ME!!! on his desk. After I mentioned it he told me it was the first picture I'd ever had of someone he knows on his desk. That being not a clip from the newspaper or something. I love you loads and loads Trampe. Going to miss you. See you in December. That's way to far off. Hopefully the time will fly away.

Just a curiosity

Geek, n. - slang:

"A person who is interested in technology, especially computing and new media...

who had chosen concentration rather than conformity;

one who passionately pursues skill and imagination, not mainstream Social Acceptance."

Who needs mainstream Social Acceptance anyway? :p
I don't really agree with that saying.... I think...

A song for the day

I really wanted to just play the song and have it like something to listen to. But I feel that this soon suits our reality even better now than we actually lived together and I just had loads of time left to finish school.

Always keep in mind

Trips to here there and everywhere, or "hytt og gevær"

I'd love to post more blog updates than I do. But as we seem to travel everywhere all the time, seeming to travel after the rain and sleet all the time, walking for miles looking for motives(motifs?) and driving for miles it doesn't seem like there is neither time nor energy to do so. But here it goes.

We've been to a lot of trips to;
Gjesvær(in Norwegian); where we looked for birds and took a boat trip out to a bird/nesting cliff. Slept there for one night before we went on to...

Knivskjellodden; Norway's most nothern point, sometimes considered the nothernmost point of the entire conitnent of Europe. Kinnarodden on the Nordkun peninsula is the nothernmost point on the mainland. I've never been to the latter though. This place we only spent one night as well
Kanootrip down Alta river with the dogmushing girls. As photographers we detected a horrible side of oursleves. We actually almost got a bit sad/disapointes when the others didn't overturn(kvelve is sucha better word for this). Slep one night outdoors.

I've also been on tips when the nature photography group.
One more trip to Gjesvær(sleeping there for one night).
A trip to a place close to the hill top named Komsa (just like the house I live in), where we had some education and possibility to try what we learned quite immediately.

The last trip we(the photogroup, not nature photography)'ve been to was to Seiland. Seiland looks like a fairytale. Trampe; we have to go there one time! I've even gotten to know the man to runs the boat that makes it possible for people to go there without ending on the completely wrong side of the island. We saw a glacier, raindeer, grouse and loads of astonishing scenery/landscape. All this with a huge dash of rain during night, long trips during day and bonfire the night it wasn't pouring down. We came to the conclution that the only thing that saperates the photostudents form the rest of the school is that we actually HAVE to stay inside when it's raining to protects our equipment. Yes I know, bat excuse to escape the bad weather. Though if I'd had a waterproof camerahouse/waterfroom camera equipment I'd been out there taking pictures in the rain. The trip got a sad and sudden ending as one of the students fell down a hill side and it stared to seriousily sleet.

This is what has happened so far. In addition to indoor education/lessons and some common program for all of the students.

Here is the student rapport from the trips;
The photogroup's trip to Gjesvær and Knivskjellodden. (In Norwegian)
Kanooing from Sautso down the Alta river. (Also in Norwegian)

As you understand things are happening all the time. There is almost no time to miss anyone, exept from when you're going to sleep. But then again, when you're going to sleep you're so tired that you fall asleep the moment your head hit the pillow, or normally sleeping bag laying on the ground/sleeping mat.

Dyrsku'n uten Panda

Not that different....

Yesterday we went to Alta Museum, where we looked at petroglyphs. Before we went we had a bit about Alta's history. The day turned out to be nice and kind-of-sunny weather wise, even though it didn't look like that turn out at all during the dawn. The dawn looked like a day with rain and no sun at all. Real bad weather, whch never really occurs in Alta. I love peroglyphs, they are quite awsome. One "fun fact"; someone had trashed some of the petroglyphs by spraying something over it. This is not allowed. Hence it made out guide/teacher quite furious. It should be mentioned that the tagging of the rock with petroglyphs had happened some time ago and had been cleared out quite well. But still. It's not nice to do such things with historical evidence anway. Though, misinterpret me the right way; what does it really matter that a museum exibiting petroglyphs also shows some grafiti/tagging? Yes, it origiantes from completely the wrong periode. But itn't it it a way this times answer to the petroglyphes? Here's some pictures from the trip;

Elizabeth; the teacher we had as our guide

Us on the way to the are with petroglyphs

And to finish of the picture sesion; some artsyfartsy pictures.

Noooo... We do NOT at all learn about picture composition in class. What brought your mind to something like that?Nevvah.. :p

To finish it all off, something strange happened. I was checking my mail, when one of the stipps came to pay some bills on line, hence he had to use the computer. To do that it turned out he had to logg of from my mail, wich really didn't matter to me. Though it would have been nice if the person told me before the person did so. That's life... These things happens Anyway, when I tried to get back into my mail I got this message;

The pictured did something strange with it selv, so you can't really see what it says. But the point about the message is that my mail is to be blocked for 24 hours due to unudual activity. Strange. (If you really want to read it you could click the picture and get to see it in a larger version.)

Today Marlene left Øytun, a tomboy who was taking huntiung and fishing. A girl to to different from me in fact. If I hadn't tanken photography I'd been attending the same course. Though; today I'm kind of happy that I'm not attending hunting and fishing as one of the pays has a bit to many wet dreams about me for my likeing. She and I has really hit it off, so when she was tanking the bus home today I got this message from her;

"Heia! :-) e kjempe glad før at æ blei kjent me dæ, du e ei helt hærli pia...

"Hola! :-) I'm really happy I got to know you, you're a great gal... Going to miss you the most, tom boy :-* Hope to keep in touch.. Comming back to visit you soon:-) <3 Hug Marlene"
